Directing attention toward where it needs to go, is a primal task of leadership.

-Daniel Goleman

This is the Information Age which is easy to distract by lots of information coming from Smartphones, notifications, and useless information. Innovations, deep working, speed, and efficiency come by Focus.

Once your Brain feels Fried, Just let it Wander

Three kinds of focus are: Detailed Focus, Empathy to others, open awareness

Sometimes taking a break is the only thing we need. if your work requires intense focus or needs innovations, let your mind roam freely as Open Awareness and practice “Mindlessness” sometimes. (It’s just like Recovery in Exercise)

When you leave your work at the desk for a walk, your subconscious works for you. you will generate 40% more original ideas with the subconscious mind.

Willpower Comes with your beloved works

The driver for success is doing work you love with determination. this makes your willpower.

if your work reflects your goals, it becomes effortless.

Three ways to Train Focus

  1. Mindfulness Maintaining moment-by-moment awareness of our thought
  2. Happy Thinking This will motivate you and The brain receives the reward
  3. Control distractions Improve it with meditation

Imagine distant problems as immediate, to make better long-term decisions

If you do that, you can stop choosing what makes you happy in the short term but doesn’t solve the problem.

The regret of having had a shitty life is too far away to cause you to panic now because it’ll only come when you’re too old to change it.
